2013 Year in Review

What a year! I guess the year is not quite over yet, but we’ve taken our post-track season break, with a couple of exceptions for folks who are rolling through some marathon training, or who got a late start on the season and are looking for one last performance at the 5k Endurance in a couple of weeks.

With various provincial high school track championships taking place across the country these past couple of weekends, it seemed an appropriate time to consider how we are doing in terms of developing these youngsters into senior level talent.

One of the best things about running is how it acts as an escape. At home, running on Mont Royal, there are moments when disbelief can be suspended, and at certain twists and turns of the trail, no matter how familiar they are, you can imagine yourself in some kind of wilderness, using your special skills, that capacity to run long distances, to survive.
