Ryan Noel-Hodge showed he will be in the mix for an All-Canadian spot come November as he finished 6th at this competitive meet, finishing only behind runners from powerhouses Guelph and Windsor. The lead pack of about 10 runners took the first loop conservatively, and then Matt Walters of Windsor opened it up at around 6k, taking Guelph’s Ross Proudfoot with him. Windsor’s Andrew Aguanno followed, and the pack strung out. Ryan finished strongly in 6th position. The men finished 10th out of 15 teams.
Dominque Roy was the top runner for the Stingers in the women’s 5k race, running 18:55 and finishing 24th. In her first race back from injury, Dom ran well with the pack and looks to move up as she gets stronger and the season goes on. Molly Howes had an impressive debut with the Stingers, as she ran the tough course in 21:46. The women were 13th out of 17 teams.
Video highlights! Music on the men’s video is R.E.M. in honour of their recent break up.
